Cote d’Ivoire’s economic development continues to suffer due to an inability to meet private sector demand for properly regulated, functional industrial zones — through both new development and rehabilitation. MCC transitioned Cote d’Ivoire from a threshold program to compact development, with one of the focuses of the compact being industrial zone development to address land-related constraints to industrial productivity and economic growth in Cote d’Ivoire. The areas being considered by MCC for potential investment are: 1. tools for monitoring of industrial land demand; 2. reforms to enable land markets to respond to demand; 3. capacity building of government industrial land stakeholders; 4. refining and expanding the use of PPPs; and 5. improving environmental, social, and gender performance in industrial zones. Deloitte’s role is to provide design recommendations for the Compact to help the GOCI and Cote d’Ivoire’s industrial sector realize growth opportunities and provide due diligence consulting services on specific elements of the Compact. |
