Sierra Leone announces the construction of a $1.4 million seaport. The facility, to be located near the village of Niti on Bonthe Island, around 150 km south of Freetown, will incorporate an industrial free trade zone. The feasibility study, completed in December 2019, was carried out by Strong Hold Finance Group.

The EIB has announced the deployment of 16.6 million (euros) to combat Covid19 and enable economic growth worldwide. More than 10 billion euros of covid-19 investment will improve public health, strengthen public services and support business investment in sectors affected by the pandemic.

IFAD has provided $77.7 million to rural communities to build a food and nutrition insecurity project to provide support to 210,000 rural households vulnerable to climatic stocks and food insecurity. Precis has several components: support for food crops - maize, millet, rice, sorghum - market gardening and livestock farming.
